Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

The relationship between a client and a psychologist is protected by the law. Information cannot be disclosed without written permission. However, the following exceptions apply:

  • I am required by law to report suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • I am required to inform the police and intended victim if a client is threatening bodily harm to someone.
  • If there is concern about harm to self, I will make every effort to enlist the cooperation of the client, parent, or guardian to ensure the client's safety. If for some reason, it is not possible to ensure the client's safety, I will take further measures, without permission, to ensure the client's safety. This is also required by law.
